In addition to the project, the new replacement cog should be reinforced with a very tiny long screw or metal wire/round rod the same idea add more strength of material to handle more pressure of its load.

Confirmed what I suspected: Toyota put the instrument console in the middle so it could manufacture the same dashboard for right-hand and left-hand drive cars. Thanks!
